2009 Eastman Kodak announced the end of Kodachrome production. I'm taking photographs of thirty six drum kits with an old roll of Kodachrome-X 64 film (expiration date: December 1972). The image formation is always the same: Upright format with the drum kit taking up the full width of the image. A handheld flash is aimed directly at the drum kit. The upper half of the image is all colored light. Exposure time's about 10 seconds. There are no people in the image.
One can only guess how the film reacts to the exposure. I only have this one roll of Kodachrome film and I'm taking one single picture of each drum kit. I have an identical camera with another type of film for a backup copy.
I'll post the images here by the end of the year. Exhibition and publication 2011.
